Arsenal Make History with Longest European Winning Run

Arsenal players celebrate after their 3–1 win over Inter Milan, completing seven consecutive UEFA Champions League victories.
Arsenal Make History with Seven Straight Champions League Wins

Arsenal continued their historic 2025/26 UEFA Champions League campaign with a 3–1 victory over Inter Milan at the San Siro. This win sealed their place in the round of 16 and extended their run to seven straight wins in European competition, the most in club history.

Gabriel Jesus scored twice in the first half, marking his first goals of this season’s UCL. Later, Viktor Gyökeres added a third goal. With this result, Arsenal finished the group stage with a perfect record of 21 points and a +18 goal difference.

“This is a proud moment for the club and for the players,” said manager Mikel Arteta. “To achieve seven wins in a row at this level shows the consistency and mentality we’ve built.”

Game by Game: The Seven Wins

Arsenal’s streak began with a 2–0 win over Athletic Club in Bilbao. This was followed by several convincing wins at the Emirates Stadium. Highlights include:

  • Olympiacos 2–0 (Home) – Arsenal showed composure under pressure.
  • Atletico Madrid 4–0 (Home) – They dominated both attack and defence.
  • Slavia Prague 3–0 (Home) – The team maintained momentum against resilient opponents.
  • Bayern Munich 3–1 (Away) – Key players stepped up in a high-stakes match.
  • Club Brugge 3–0 (Home) – Noni Madueke and Bukayo Saka continued their scoring form.
  • Inter Milan 3–1 (Away) — Gabriel Jesus’s brace and Gyökeres’s late goal sealed the seventh win.

As a result, Arsenal scored over 20 goals while conceding only two in these seven matches. This shows both attacking efficiency and defensive strength.

European Context: Where Arsenal Stand

This streak is Arsenal’s best-ever run in European competition. However, it is still behind the all-time Champions League record. Bayern Munich hold that record with 11 consecutive wins during the 2019–20 campaign. Other historic runs include 10 wins by Manchester City and Real Madrid, and nine by Barcelona.

Among English clubs, only Manchester City have achieved a longer run, with 10 wins between 2023 and 2024.

Premier League Clubs in Europe

Compared to other Premier League teams in Europe, Arsenal’s seven consecutive wins place them among elite campaigns. They are level with Liverpool’s multiple seven-game runs and previous Arsenal streaks of six wins.

Implications for the Season Ahead

This record confirms Arsenal’s transformation into one of Europe’s most consistent sides this season. Their unbeaten domestic form mirrors their success in Europe. Having already guaranteed top seeding for the knockout stages, the Gunners are preparing for the next stage of the competition.

“With squad depth and key attackers firing on all cylinders, this team has the belief to go all the way,” Arteta added. “We’re laying the foundation for a deep Champions League run unlike any other in our history.”
